About the Event
On July 20th, 2024 we will be hosting our breast cancer walk from 8am - 12pm followed by a Family Field Day until 5pm. To encourage family participation and unity in the community we would like to incorporate games, obstacle courses, slides, a dunking booth, bounce houses, music and food trucks.
In order to make this fundraising event successful, we need the help of our community to raise money through sponsorships, donations, and vendors.
Sponsors will receive a free table to advertise/sell products, acknowledgement on the hosts’ social media platforms, recognition in the newspaper, and the local radio station. You will also be recognized on the event banner on the day of the event (based on sponsorship level).

About Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church
Below, is a link to a our Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/MMBCJACKSON/ |
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church has been through the fire and the storm. It was rebuilt following each devastating loss, but TODAY, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church has been built for the 3rd time because our foundation is solid in the Lord our God and through all of the adversity, we continue to stand strong in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are truly blessed to have our leader, Pastor Cornelius McClendon and his wife, First Lady Sandy McClendon leading the Flock. They are passionate about their faith and family. They believe in reaching out into the community and helping others. Pastor McClendon preaches and teaches the Bible, while our First Lady loves singing the Lord's praises. We would like to welcome you to come worship with us every Sunday. We are the church where "Everybody is Somebody and CHRIST is All and All". You are also more than welcome to join us on October 13th, 2024, for our annual Breast Cancer Awareness program. This year we will host Sisters by Choice. MMBC & BMOA will make a special presentation to show our support for their promotion of breast health, education, community outreach, and the labor and love they have placed in their mobile breast clinic. |
About BMOA
BMOA was proudly founded by James C. Lawson and Curtis Gaye in 1976. They recognized there was a need for a community service organization, and so they convened a meeting of 15 men, and that is how BMOA was started. The organization was incorporated in November 1980 and was later reorganized as a 501(c) organization in 2012.
From the beginning, Mr. James C. Lawson and Mr. Curtis Gaye knew that there was work to be done, and they couldn't just talk about it. They had to be about it. The organization placed emphasis on "Action" rather than words. BMOA's objectives (3) • Support Education • Serve the Community • Promote Fellowship within the Membership and Community They agreed to adopt the county's name because they believed that "Charity starts at home." BMOA, since the very beginning, they have indeed taken care of home with assisting the Red Cross by encouraging blood donations through the distribution of hand-bills and door prizes. They also sponsored a pest control program, provided neighborhood playground equipment, and provided assistance for needy families. Since BMOA is deeply rooted in education, it's only fitting that they put a face with the name. Henderson High School was named after Mrs. Fannie Blount Henderson and very few people knew anything about her. BMOA was able to secure a faded picture from one of her family members, and from that picture, they were able to obtain a portrait painted by Mrs. Anita Thomas, where it was then placed on display at Henderson. BMOA has been honored for many reasons, such as Scholarships, education assistance and numerous charitable causes. They are involved in numerous community activities and programs. They are definitely serving our community. They will host their 48th BMOA banquet this year along with their co-founder, Mr. Curtis Gaye. (Sourced from BMOA) |
